Calling for all the cocktail lovers!!! The treasure I’m going to introduce today will be an eye opener for all of you! Located at a busy and vibrant shopping district; just a 3-minute walk from Nipponbashi station (日本橋駅) and you will definitely be able to unveil the hidden treasure.

…“Each bar features its own unique character through the expression of different themes – from female uniform servants to live musical bands and even to psychedelic and funky bar ambience”…

Misono building, I believe, is not a new iconic landmark for most of the locals, but for all the tourists you may wonder what it is! The building has existed since the year 1956. Following the spiral staircase to level 2, you will be able to find your favorite bar, pub, or even restaurant as Misono comprises more than 40 bars on a single level. It is also equipped with a huge hall for party and wedding banquet purposes.

If you want to be away from the conventional bars, you should consider paying a visit to Misono. Each bar features its own unique character through the expression of different themes – from female uniform servants to live musical band and even psychedelic and funky bar ambience. You can hardly find two bars that are alike. It is definitely a breeze discovering a bar that can suit your “mood-of-the day” after an exhausting shopping trip!

…“ Owned by a young Japanese, Mr. Nobu, since 2008, No.8 has found a way to keep all his regular clienteles and to attract new visitors like me!”…

Like any other alcohol lover, the taste of a drink is the only reason and the most significant factor that can unlock my palate and attract me to visit again, and again. Owned by a young Japanese, Mr. Nobu, since 2008, No.8 (pronounced as Number B) has found a way to keep all his regular clienteles and to attract new visitors like me!

Like any other traditional Japanese pub, the seats are arranged along the bar table, which allows for interactive conversations and allows the barman to attend to the customers without any delay. The pendant lamps and slow background music makes the mood smooth, cozy and relaxing. A frameless full-length wall mirror on one side of the bar reflects the lights from the bar and complements the relaxing atmosphere. You can definitely experience the “Japanese wabi-sabi” – simple, elegant yet modest.

…“MangGrape – mango liqueur combined with carefully crushed pristine grape fruit juice and topped off with soulful mint leaves before serving, making it the most refreshing summer cocktail ever!”…

There are two “WOW” factors that I think worth mentioning. First of all, the bar specialty is cocktails made from fresh and seasonal fruit juice. There is a list of recommendations on the chalkboard – feel free to choose one to stop your craving! I have personally tried “MangGrape” – mango liqueur combined with carefully crushed pristine grape fruit juice and topped off with soulful mint leaves before serving, making it the most refreshing summer cocktail ever! Another must-try is the “Real Passoa Orange”. The cocktail is made from Passoa – a passion fruit liqueur made in France containing 17% of alcohol, mixed with freshly squeezed orange juice and infused with the fresh and sweet tropical flavor of passion fruit seeds. If you like a strong boost of alcohol taste and a healthier choice of luscious drink that is full of antioxidants and vitamins, I strongly recommend these two cocktails!

…“ With a meticulously formulated recipe, the whisky is chilled by a diamond shaped ice cube!!!”…

Another “WOW” factor is spirit on the rock! YES! Spirit on the ROCK! Japanese whisky added to a big cube of ice and served in an old fashioned glass (often referred to as a lowball glass). What so special about it? Well, the word whisky often conjures up a picture of a masculine cowboy smoking a puff of tobacco while sipping his whisky in a rural town. But, do we actually know how to appreciate the delicate taste of whisky? Unlike other bars, No.B has done a great job in making sure that the whisky is prepared and presented at its optimal taste to serve to the customers. With a meticulously formulated recipe, the whisky is chilled by a diamond shaped ice cube!!! (At this point, I feel like humming a song from Rihanna!!! – “Shine bright like a diamond”)

The reason that uses the special diamond shaped ice cube is not only to reduce the surface area of the ice in contact with whisky but also to let the ice melts slowly. Hence, your drink is chilled without being diluted. The chilled whisky numbs your taste buds and immediately follows with a firm kick from your esophagus. The aftertaste is pleasant and satisfying. Your manliness will definitely get an immediate power up! (So, it is a good place to bring your partner along!)
